Day 10

Progress, Not Perfection

One of the hardest parts of healing is believing that it’s okay to not be “there” yet. We want the pain to stop. We want to be over it. We want to wave a magic wand, wake up, and feel whole again.

But healing isn’t a straight line—and it’s definitely not a checklist.

Healing is much more like a snail—moving slowly, sometimes sliding backward, then inching forward again. It’s not fast, but it’s steady. It’s sacred. It’s determined.

You’ll have days where you feel strong, clear, and grounded. And then days when you feel triggered, hopeless, or stuck. Both are part of the journey. Neither means you’re failing.

The pressure to “be healed” is just another way we shame ourselves. But healing doesn’t demand perfection—it invites presence. It asks you to walk the journey one breath, one truth, one small step at a time.

Today’s Gentle Practice:

  1. Think of a moment this week when you showed up for yourself—even in a small way.
    Maybe you rested.
Maybe you spoke kindly to yourself.
    Maybe you reached out.
  2. Celebrate it. Write it down. Acknowledge it. Give yourself credit.
    “I’m proud of myself for…”
  3. Whisper this truth to yourself:
“I am healing—even when it’s slow. Even when it’s messy.”

You don’t have to be perfect to be making progress. You only have to keep showing up—with honesty, with courage, and with compassion for the version of you that’s healing, one moment at a time.

Tomorrow, we’ll begin exploring how to rebuild your sense of identity—because you are more than what happened to you.
